Today, I’ll be introducing a new type of question: the estimation question! You’ll have to estimate a geographical number. Don’t just look these up and copy and paste; that just hurts you, and it’s pretty obvious! (To keep things fair, for now this doesn’t count for getting a guest DQ set. I still encourage you to try these out, as you’ll see them more in competitions as well as our practices!)
- Estimate the height of the highest mountain in the continental United States, in feet.
- Estimate the distance between the capitals of the United States and Canada, in miles.
- How many people live in Shanghai? Estimate to the nearest million.
- How many US states have a high point below 1000 feet?
- What is the surface area of the Caspian Sea? Estimate to the nearest square mile.
